Parking is prohibited on streets after a 2.5 inch snowfall. Parking may not resume on the street until it has been plowed curb-to-curb. Violators may be tagged and towed. In addition, to parking restrictions related to snow plowing, Plymouth prohibits parking on City streets year-round from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Residents and contractors hired to plow driveways should not deposit snow in the street. Violators of this ordinance slow snowplowing operations, create more work for their neighbors and may make it difficult to open the street full width.
Pile shoveled snow on the side of the driveway to avoid having the snowplow push it back onto the driveway.
Shovel Fire Hydrants
The Fire Department asks residents to shovel out fire hydrants near their homes. Keeping hydrants clear of snow substantially reduces the time it takes firefighters to get into service to put out a fire.
Mail and Other Services
Keep your mailbox clear of snow to ensure mail delivery.
If it snows on collection day, keep garbage cans and recycle bins away from the end of the driveway.
