It takes less energy, water and other natural resources to make new products out of recyclables. Recycling in Minnesota reduces enough industrial energy consumption to power 615,000 homes just in one year. It also conserves 5.75 million trees, reduces the need for 232,000 tons of coal, and reduces our greenhouse gas emissions by the equivalent of 2.3 million cars.
The City of Plymouth offers residents and businesses a variety of recycling and resource management programs to help our environment everyday.
Residents in single-family homes and town homes pay a $1.50 per month solid waste fee for environmental programs. This fee is charged bimonthly. It supports not only the curbside recycling collection program, but also the Recycling Drop-off Center, Yard Waste Site, two Special Drop-off days, special events and general program administration.
