4. How do I find out about Plymouth's senior housing, Plymouth Towne Square?
Plymouth Towne Square is a 97 unit apartment building located in Plymouth. It includes one and two bedroom apartments, underground parking, laundry facilities, and common areas. Towne Square is convenient to shops, parks, a library, and a recreation center. Rents are subsidized to make the units affordable to low income residents; however, there is a waiting list. For more information, call the Towne Square manager at 763-550-9525.
5. What is the Section 8 Rental Assistance Program?
The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program is federally funded. It provides families freedom in finding a rental unit suitable to their needs and desires. The unit selected by the family must meet certain criteria. Families generally pay about 30% of gross monthly income for rent, and the housing agency makes up the difference between what the family pays and the market rent rate. There are certain criteria which must be met. Plymouth currently has a waiting list for Section 8 assistance. For more information, contact Housing Technician Paula Dorn, 763-509-5414.
