Plymouth business people and homeowners who have burglar or fire alarm systems that are centrally monitored are required to obtain alarm permits. Both burglar and fire alarm permits are issued free for new alarm systems. Users must obtain alarm user permits for each system they have installed.
False Alarms
Business people and homeowners with alarm systems are reminded to use them carefully. False alarms are costly. The Police Department responds to thousands annually. If you set off your police alarm by mistake, call your alarm company to cancel police response.
Over half of Fire Department responses are made to false alarm calls. To reduce false fire alarms, the Fire Department recommends cleaning and checking fire detection systems twice a year.
